overview

The Great Migration is nature’s most humbling demonstration of perseverance, and safari enthusiasts from all over the globe go to Tanzania to see it. Huge herds of wildebeest and zebra move from Tanzania to Kenya in search of green grass to graze on, making the Serengeti a unique place to witness this phenomenon. They travel across the vast Serengeti Plains and through a number of rivers on their way. This journey takes them back and forth between the two countries. This itinerary is tailor-made for travelers who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of and connection with Tanzania. You will visit the less well-known Tarangire National Park in addition to traditional Maasai villages, the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, and of course, the world-famous Serengeti National Park!

Kilimanjaro International Airport is your point of arrival. When you clear passport control, your safari guide, who will accompany you for the duration of your journey, will meet you outside the arrivals lounge. Your safari guide will then transport you to your accommodation in Arusha, a journey that will take approximately an hour. Before beginning your safari in Tanzania the next day, treat yourself to a delicious supper and a quiet evening.

Accommodations:

  • Gran Melia Arusha
  • Arusha Coffee Lodge by Elewana
  • Arusha Villa Karamu Coffee Estate
  • Pazuri Inn Arusha

Following breakfast, you will depart Arusha and travel for two hours through picturesque tribal communities to Tarangire National Park. Before checking into your accommodations in the late afternoon, you will embark on a game drive and enjoy a picnic supper.

After the Serengeti, Tarangire has the greatest density of animals in Tanzania. During the arid season, the Tarangire River attracts parched animals. Birds, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and elephants are all present in the park’s river. In truth, the park boasts the highest population of elephants in the entire nation and provides one of the most exceptional opportunities to observe inter-family interactions. Furthermore, this is the sole location in Tanzania where it is common to observe dry-country antelope, such as oryx and gerenuk. The primary attractions of Tarangire are the breathtaking vistas of the Maasai Steppe and the Highlands to the south, as well as the magnificent baobab trees.

Accommodations:

  • Tarangire Safari Lodge
  • Maramboi Tented Camp
  • Ndovu Tented Camp
  • Mpingo Ridge
  • Kuro Tarangire

Following breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Karatu, with a stop at the vibrant village of Mtowa Mbu to experience the lively market filled with energy. Engage with the community, peruse unique handmade items, and relish the delightful flavors of local fruits. The lively sights, sounds, and aromas of the market will envelop you in the rich culture of Tanzania. As you proceed to Karatu, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Highlands throughout your trip.

After a delightful breakfast, you will descend 600 meters into Ngorongoro Crater, where you can witness incredible wildlife up close. We will serve a picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a remarkable population of 20,000 to 30,000 animals at any given time, serving as a sanctuary that showcases nearly every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa. The Crater boasts the highest concentration of lions, hyenas, and leopards per square mile in Africa, establishing it as one of the continent’s most renowned natural wonders. This is a premier location in Africa to observe the critically endangered black rhino. Start your journey out of the crater in the afternoon, heading toward Central Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay.

Accommodations:

  • Melia Serengeti Lodge
  • Nyikani Camp
  • Serengeti Sametu Camp
  • Ole Serai Luxury Camps
  • Serengeti Safari Camp

You will have the opportunity to spend two full days in the Central Serengeti, an area of the park that is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and a plethora of wildlife, notably large predators. The locals’ designation of the Serengeti as the “endless plains” will become apparent as you continue to explore the area. Two of the most renowned game reserves in Africa are Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. Acacia trees are frequently connected to Africa by numerous individuals, who envision them dispersed across immense grasslands, often in the company of a Masai combatant and some livestock. Upon the commencement of the rainy season, nearly two million wildebeest traverse the Serengeti annually. However, this is not the only sight to behold; the grasslands are also home to a variety of fauna, including elephants, raptors, and gazelles. Hot-air balloon excursions over the Serengeti plains have become nearly as popular as traditional vehicle safaris in recent years.

We are able to accommodate your specific schedule. In conjunction with you, your safari guide will determine the most advantageous wake-up and game-viewing periods for each day. You have the option of participating in a morning game drive, returning to the camp for lunch and some relaxation, and then embarking on another game drive in the afternoon. Alternatively, you could participate in a full-day game drive and prepare a picnic lunch.

Accommodations:

  • Melia Serengeti Lodge
  • Nyikani Camp
  • Serengeti Sametu Camp
  • Ole Serai Luxury Camps
  • Serengeti Safari Camp

The northern region of the Serengeti boasts highly nutritious vegetation that offers sustenance for the migrating animals. This is the perfect moment to witness the legendary crossings of the wildebeests at the Mara River. A number of large crocodiles are presently lounging in the Nile River, anticipating the significant migration. One of the most treacherous segments of the wildebeests and zebras’ migration is crossing the Mara River; however, if fortune favors you, you may have the opportunity to witness this incredible spectacle firsthand during your travels to the Masai Mara. Proceed with your journey for a duration of three days.

Accommodations:

  • Lamai Serengeti
  • Mkombe’s House Lamai
  • Mara River Post
  • Serengeti River Camp

Your time in the Serengeti comes to an end this morning. In the morning, you have the option of sleeping in or going on a brief game drive before making your way to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. We will pick you both up and send you to either Neema Village, an orphanage for abandoned, orphaned, and at-risk infants, or The Plaster House, a facility that helps children from all across Tanzania recuperate following surgery, depending on your preferences. Staying at the luxurious Gran Melia Arusha for the night is the perfect way to cap off an exciting day.

WHAT OUR CLINTS SAY

I am not even sure where to start because everything was beyond perfect. Customer service was the best. The entire team took extremely good care of us. We hiked and in one day we saw a lot of chimpanzees in the park. Juma organized it on very short notice and Abbas is very knowledgeable about the park and took us to the best routes. Thanks a lot, guys!

I did a 3-days-2-nights trekking with We Cab Tours in Gombe National park. What can I say? Asante sana! The trip was just super perfect! I saw many chimpanzees (it's not guaranteed for sure because as you know how wildlife is sometimes). BUT I did it in the end of March when officially is off-season and I still saw them. The weather was really good too. Juma, the owner and his employees are super nice people. I always felt safe and understood. Moreover everything was on time what is really rare to get - believe me. I would do it with this organization again for sure! And I will do some other trips when I am again in Tanzania

Juma, thank you for your hospitality and flexibility during our travel to Zanzibar. I had an amazing and beautiful experience because of your team. Your team arrived early at the RUI to pack our luggage in the van and patiently waited until we were ready to leave the hotel as were saying goodbye to our friends we met on the trip. I appreciate the time you took on our last day of the visit in Stone town prior to leaving for the airport. You helped us negotiate our fabrics and clothing so that we received the best price

Juma, Makame, Brendah and the We Cab family were the absolute best! They treated us like family, they were on time for every day we booked. They want out of their way to provide the best experience. When we booked the "scary ferry" ride to Dar es Salem, we were treated to a complimentary upgrade. We missed the stop in Nairobi where we were supposed to give donations to an orphanage and they made sure to find a reputable one in Zanzibar, and had one of their guides Brendah, translate on our behalf. I truly felt more like family than a client. I will definitely return to Zanzibar and use We Cab for all my transportation and tour needs.
