Our company will have a driver-guide ready to take you to your hotel as soon as you get to Kilimanjaro International Airport. As you ride to Arusha, which is known as the “safari capital of the world,” look at the busy streets between Kilimanjaro and Arusha. We will introduce you to all the necessary details before heading west to Lake Manyara National Park. You’ll stop at Mtowambu for a morning cultural tour and a tasty local lunch, and then you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for afternoon wildlife drives. The park has 400 bird species, primate-filled woods (watch for long-tailed Guenon monkeys), and grassy plains. Alkaline Lake Manyara is home to flamingos and other aquatic birds. You may also spot giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, and impalas, while the nearby woodlands are teeming with monkeys and baboons. Following breakfast, your journey will proceed to the Serengeti National Park. After enjoying a satisfying breakfast, prepare a delightful picnic lunch and venture into the crater for an entire day of wildlife exploration. A volcano eruption formed this crater, causing a significant land collapse. It spans approximately 18 kilometers in width. This compact region showcases a remarkable variety of East Africa’s wildlife, featuring Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles roaming the grassy plains and mountain reedbucks nestled among the trees on the hills. Prepare to encounter spotted hyenas, elusive wild dogs, and an impressive variety of over 500 bird species. Visitors to the crater for a brief period can spot the Big Five: the lion, the elephant, the buffalo, the rhino, and the leopard. Upon your return to Arusha in the afternoon, your five-day big cat tour will close with a drop-off at the airport or another destination within the city.
